What the numbers mean
- Ping is the time it takes for a signal to reach the server and return. It matters most for gaming and calls: up to 30 ms is great, up to 80 is acceptable.
- Jitter is how much your ping fluctuates. The lower it is, the smoother your calls and games.
- Download is how fast data reaches you: videos, websites, files.
- Upload is how fast data leaves your device: cloud photo backups, video calls, live streams.
Why this result differs from other tests
We measure speed specifically to Moscow, where most Russian online services are hosted. Other websites select the nearest server to you, so their figures may be higher. Results can also be affected by Wi-Fi, peak evening network traffic, other household devices, and even open browser tabs.
How to get an accurate test
- Connect via Ethernet cable or move closer to the router.
- Pause downloads and system updates on all devices.
- Turn off your VPN if you want to test your provider's actual speed.
- Run the test two or three times and check the average result.
What speed do you need
5–8 Mbps is enough for Full HD video, and around 25 for 4K. A video call requires 2–4 Mbps both ways and a ping under 100 ms. For a household streaming video, gaming, and working at the same time, 100 Mbps or more feels comfortable.

Why is my speed lower than my plan promises?
Your plan specifies the speed to your provider, whereas we measure the full route to Moscow. In addition, Wi-Fi often cuts speed in half, and network loads increase in the evening.
How much data does a speed test use?
It depends on your speed: at 100 Mbps, it uses around 100–200 MB per test. If you are on a capped mobile plan, avoid running it too often.
Why is my ping so high?
The further you are from Moscow, the higher the ping: signals travel through cables at a finite speed. From Novosibirsk, 50–60 ms is completely normal. If your ping is high even in Moscow, the issue is more likely Wi-Fi or local network congestion.
Why are download and upload speeds so different?
Most internet plans are designed this way: download speeds are higher than upload speeds because people consume far more data than they send. On mobile connections, a 3–5x difference is standard.
